Second-Hand Pallet Collection Perth
Most retail businesses that receive incoming goods from a supplier such as a wholesaler end up with pallets they no longer need. They stack up in a corner of the yard, becoming an eyesore and taking up valuable space you could be using. Pallet Pickups is set up to deal with exactly that. We collect surplus second-hand pallets from commercial sites right across Perth, take them off your hands, and give them a second life.
We have collected, refurbished and resold pallets since 2017. What amounts to clutter on your site is the core of what we do on ours, so you get your space back and the pallets go back into use rather than to landfill. We work heavily with commercial businesses, so the service is built for how a busy yard, warehouse or retail operation runs.
What Our Pallet Collection Service Is
The service is simple. If you have used or empty pallets on site that you want gone, we collect them. You do not need to load a truck, drive anywhere, or work out how to dispose of them. You tell us what you have, and we handle the rest.
Pallet Pickups primarily collects and recycles Australian-made pallets measuring 1165mm x 1165mm, along with the heavy-duty Euro pallet, also known as the EPAL pallet. In our workshop, each pallet is inspected and any damaged boards are replaced with new timber. From there they are resold as refurbished second-hand pallets, ready for their next job.
Because a collection means sending a truck out, a minimum quantity applies, and it comes down to how close you are to Wangara. The nearer you are, the fewer we need for the run to be worthwhile. It is nothing complicated, and the quickest way to know where you stand is to send through a few photos, which we come to below.
What Clearing Your Pallets Frees Up
A stack of old pallets is easy to treat as harmless, because it is just sitting there. But that corner of the yard is space you are paying for, and space you could be using for stock, staging, parking, or simply moving goods around more easily.
Surplus pallets also tend to spread. One tidy stack becomes three untidy ones, and before long they creep into walkways and the loading area, so your team works around them instead of having a clear run. There is a safety side as well, because loose, leaning stacks are a trip and knock hazard, and a pile that has sat for months does your yard no favours when a client or someone from head office walks through. A tidy site reflects a business with its operation in order, and a collection sorts all of it in one visit.
Who Tends To Book A Pallet Collection
A range of Perth businesses end up with surplus pallets, usually without setting out to. Warehouses, distribution centres and retail shops receive goods on pallets constantly, and the empties add up fast. Manufacturers and factories work through packaging pallets and are left with the ones they cannot reuse. Retailers and wholesalers take in stock and build a growing stack out the back.
If any of that describes your site, you are the sort of business we collect from. The common thread is simple: the pallets are not worth the effort of dealing with yourself, yet they still take up space and get in the way. That is the gap we fill. It gets worse around seasonal peaks, when a busy delivery run leaves more empties than usual right as floor space is tightest, and a collection at those points clears the backlog fast without pulling anyone off the job.
What Happens To The Pallets After We Collect Them
This is the part that makes a collection worth more than a trip to the skip. When we collect your surplus pallets, they are not dumped. They go back to our Wangara base, where the ones in suitable condition are repaired with new boards, inspected, and made ready to work again. From there they become the pallets we refurbish and resell to other businesses across Perth that need reliable, cost-effective stock.
That is the whole idea behind the business. We have been giving pallets a second life since 2017, keeping sound timber in circulation rather than sending it to landfill. So when you book a collection you are not only clearing space, you are keeping usable pallets in service, which is better for your business, for the ones that buy them next, and for the waste heading out your back gate. It is a tidy outcome for something that started as clutter in your yard.
How To Arrange A Collection
Booking a collection is about as simple as it gets, and it starts with your phone camera. Take a few photos of the pallets you want gone. A couple of clear shots showing roughly what they are and how many you have is enough. Send them through with your location and we will assess them, and from the photos we can usually confirm what you have, whether they suit collection, and how it fits the minimum for your distance from us.
From there we confirm the collection and arrange a time that works, our truck comes out, loads them, and clears the space, and you do nothing beyond pointing us to the pile. If access is tight or the pallets are stored somewhere awkward, mention it when you send the photos and we will plan the pickup around it. If it turns out you are just under the minimum for your area, we will say so rather than send a truck on a wasted run, because sometimes it is worth waiting until a few more build up.
What We Collect
We focus on Australian-standard timber pallets, since those are what we can refurbish and return to use. If you have a stack of standard pallets in reasonable condition, they are exactly what we are after. Condition is not a barrier in itself either, because a pallet with a cracked board or two is often still worth collecting, as repairing them is what we do.
If you are not sure whether what you have qualifies, that is what the photos are for. Send them through to sales@palletpickups.com.au and we will tell you plainly. There is no point guessing, and we would rather give you a straight answer than leave you wondering. Beyond that, you do not need to sort or grade anything yourself. Leave the pallets as they are and we will take care of it.
One Supplier For Both Directions
Plenty of our customers reach the same realisation: businesses with pallets going out usually have pallets coming in, and the two can work together. We can clear the empties you no longer want and, on the supply side, set up regular resupply when you need it so your working stock is always there. If you need pallets brought in as well, we can bring them in through our pallet delivery service.
That way one local supplier handles both ends of your pallet flow instead of you running separate arrangements for removal and resupply. Less to coordinate, one number to call, and where it suits we line up the delivery and the collection on the same visit so fresh pallets land as the empties leave. It also means one point of contact for the whole pallet side of your operation, rather than juggling a removal company and a separate supplier.
Collecting From Businesses Across Perth
We collect from commercial sites across the Perth metropolitan area, working out from our base in Wangara. That takes in busy commercial and industrial areas like Belmont, Canning Vale and Bayswater, along with the industrial estates in nearby Neerabup, where warehouses and workshops tend to build surplus pallets up quickly.
How far we travel, and the minimum that applies, comes down to your distance from us, which is why the photos and your location are the starting point. If you are a commercial business in Perth with pallets to clear, send them through and we will let you know how we can help.
Why Businesses Trust Pallet Pickups
Clearing pallets is not complicated, but it is the kind of job that gets put off unless it is easy, so we make it easy. We have done this since 2017, and businesses come back because we turn up when we say we will and take the whole task off their hands. You deal with a local Perth operation that knows the area, not a call centre, and because collecting and refurbishing pallets is the core of what we do rather than a sideline, you can trust your pallets go somewhere useful rather than to waste. Over time that familiarity makes each collection quicker to arrange and easier to fit around your operation.
There is a wider benefit as well. Every pallet we collect and refurbish is one less in landfill and one more kept in use, so for a business that wants to do the right thing environmentally, or needs to show it, a collection is a straightforward win that genuinely counts.
Common Questions About Pallet Collection
How do I request a pallet collection? Take a few photos of the pallets you want gone, send them through with your location, and we will assess them and arrange the collection. The photos let us confirm what you have and how it fits the minimum for your area.
Is there a minimum number of pallets for a collection? Yes, and it comes down to how close you are to our Wangara base. The nearer you are, the fewer we need for the run to be worthwhile. Send photos and your location and we will tell you exactly where you stand.
What kinds of pallets do you collect? Australian-standard timber pallets, the 1165mm x 1165mm square ones most businesses use, along with heavy-duty Euro (EPAL) pallets. If you are unsure whether yours qualify, the photos will tell us.
Do you charge to collect pallets? It depends on the pallets, the quantity and your location, so we are upfront once we have seen the photos. Get in touch and we will give you a clear answer rather than a vague one.
What happens to the pallets after collection? They go back to our yard, are repaired with new boards where needed, inspected, and resold to other Perth businesses. Nothing usable goes to waste.
How soon can you collect? It depends on your location and current demand, so we give you an honest time when we confirm the booking rather than promise something we cannot hold to.
Can you collect old pallets and drop new ones off at the same time? Often, yes. If you have empties going out and need working pallets coming in, we can line both up so it happens in one arrangement rather than two.
What if I only have a small number of pallets? If you are under the minimum for your area we will say so honestly. Sometimes it is worth waiting until a few more build up, and a quick look at your photos is all it takes to work out.
Do I need to be on site when you collect? Not necessarily. As long as our truck has clear access to the pallets and we have confirmed the details beforehand, we can usually handle it with minimal disruption to your day.
Can you set up collections on a regular schedule? Yes. If your site builds empties up steadily, we can collect on a set cycle so they never take over the yard, rather than you booking each one in.
